Antonio Rudiger is in the final six months of his Chelsea contract, and other clubs are interested in signing him this summer. Thomas Tuchel, his countryman and manager, believes he will eventually return to Stamford Bridge.

Tuchel addressed Rudiger’s contract status in a post-match interview following his side’s triumph in the Carabao Cup semi-finals.

Asked whether Rudiger will stay at the club, the former Paris Saint-Germain manager responded: “Everybody knows but there’s a lot of ‘if’ in your question. Let’s wait to see what becomes the reality.

Asked if he is confident they can tie down Rudiger to a long-term deal.”

He added: “Of course we are confident. We have things to offer and he is the player he is in a Chelsea shirt and in a Chelsea environment. I think he knows it very well.” (Source: Mirror)
