Off Campus is switching up its love story for Season 2, taking a page straight out of Bridgerton’s playbook. The Amazon Prime Video romance series has officially confirmed that Mika Abdalla and Stephen Kalyn will lead the upcoming season, shifting focus to a brand-new central couple while continuing the wider ensemble story.
Based on Elle Kennedy’s bestselling book series, Off Campus will move away from the romance of Garrett Graham and Hannah Wells, portrayed by Belmont Cameli and Ella Bright in Season 1, and instead spotlight Dean Di Laurentis and Allie Hayes, played by Stephen Kalyn and Mika Abdalla.
The announcement was made through the show’s official social media account, which teased the transition between the couples in a nod to Kennedy’s novels. “From Garrett & Hannah to Dean & Allie, the Off Campus love story continues in Season 2,” the account shared, signalling a fresh chapter for the fan-favourite romance series.
Interestingly, the adaptation is taking an unexpected turn by skipping over The Mistake, the second book in Kennedy’s Off Campus series, and moving directly to The Score, which centres on Allie and Dean’s romance. The decision surprised many readers, especially after India Fowler was cast as Grace Ivers, leading fans to believe the series would continue chronologically.
Creator and co-showrunner Louisa Levy previously confirmed that Allie and Dean’s storyline would take centre stage after their introduction in Season 1. However, she also reassured fans that Hannah and Garrett’s journey is far from over, promising they will continue playing an important role in the ensemble cast.
“We’re looking forward to telling the next chapter of everyone’s story. There’s a lot for fans to look forward to!” Levy said while discussing the upcoming season.
Dean and Allie’s chemistry has already generated buzz among viewers following several standout moments in the first season. One particularly viral scene even earned attention from singer and actress Jennifer Lopez after her hit song On The Floor re-entered conversations online thanks to a sequence featuring Allie recreating Lopez’s iconic green Grammys look.
Production on the new season is expected to begin soon, with Levy previously revealing that all eight episodes have already been written. As anticipation builds, fans are eager to see how Dean and Allie’s romance unfolds while still keeping up with the beloved relationships introduced in the show’s debut season.
