The commercial performance of Masters of the Universe has become the subject of renewed debate, with some commentators arguing that the film’s theatrical results paint a far different picture than optimistic claims about its long-term future.

According to critics of the film’s performance, the movie’s box office results represent a significant disappointment regardless of how the outcome is framed.
