Five winners from the 2020 summer transfer window

With the summer transfer window completely gone, it’s time for the Top 5 of the biggest winners. We are going to specifically talk about the clubs that made the best business before deadline and what they accomplished.

So here are five winners from the 2020 summer transfer window.

5.- Borussia Dortmund.

There isn’t really a transfer window in which Borussia Dortmund doesn’t come out on top. They either sign incredible young talents or they sell them for impressive amounts of money to the highest bidders. This time around, they got to sign Jude Bellingham and keep Jadon Sancho. It was a win-win situation for the German squad. We can already consider them title contenders in every competition they play.

4.- Inter Milan.

After reaching last-year’s Europa League, Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan proved they mean business. This is a club that is willing to go all out to win the Serie A title against Juventus and effectively end their decade-long dominance. Signing Achraf Hakimi and keeping Lautaro Martinez was a great first step. Getting Arturo Vidal is already a luxury, the Chilean midfielder will increase their chances to win trophies this season.

3.- Bayern Munich.

The Bavarian giants had a busy but swift last day of the transfer window. They signed Douglas Costa from Juventus on a loan and increased their speed from the wingers they have. It was also a good chance to sell Thiago Alcantara for good money but they managed to land a major transfer earlier in the window. Leroy Sane came from Manchester City to begin a new chapter in his career. This squad seems like it can dominate European football for the next decade.

2.- Everton FC.

Carlo Ancelotti was very clear to the Everton board of directors. His intention is to fight for trophies this season and he needed proper transfers to do so. The first order of business was to find a striker who could accompany Richarlison on the attack.

With the Brazil international making the decision to stay after being promised a competitive squad. The Toffees delivered by bringing James Rodriguez from Real Madrid on a free transfer. They also gave Dominic Calvert-Lewin a more prominent role and he is starting to give results. This Everton side is looking like it will cause problems for every squad inside the Top Six.

1.- Chelsea FC.

Frank Lampard has a major challenge ahead of him after Roman Abramovich paid nearly €250 million to bring some incredible young talents. He brought Kai Havertz, Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell, and Edouard Mendy.

That should be more than enough to consider the Blues as title contenders. But first, Lampard needs to make them perform at the highest level. Getting the expected results won’t be easy for Lampard as his job is on the line if he doesn’t. Especially after spending so much money on a single transfer window.
