Chiesa should stay in Italy for his own good – Nuno Gomes

Portuguese legend and former Fiorentina player Nuno Gomes has advised Federico Chiesa to stay in Italy for at least a couple more seasons.

22-year-old Federico Chiesa is one of the sought after players this summer.

The Fiorentina forward is unlikely to stay with La Viola after this season. It is said that numerous teams from Italy, Spain, and England are waiting to pounce and sign up for the young Italian.

Italian giants Juventus are said to be the top Serie A side interested in the youngster.

Portuguese legend and former Fiorentina front man Nuno Gomes insists the player will leave Fiorentina when the deal is right for all parties.

However, Gomes insists that staying in Italy at least for the immediate future would be best.

In an interview reported by Goal he said: “In my opinion, a young player like him should stay in Italy.”

“It would be his best choice.”

“He is still 22 so another couple of seasons will make him improve before leaving to another country.”

“But for sure he would be ready for LaLiga or the Premier League.”

“He has already been an international many times and has much experience under his belt in Serie A, a very tough league.”

“He will be ready for an adventure abroad but the choice must be his and Fiorentina’s.”
