Zinedine Zidane leaves the door open for transfers for Real Madrid

Real Madrid parted ways with a number of their players this season including James Rodriguez, Achraf Hakimi, and Sergio Reguilon.

A profit amount close to €95 million has reportedly been generated by the sales of the players for Los Blancos, and that is excluding funds obtained from loan deals.

Despite having substantially strengthened their position financially, the Spanish giants have shown no activity at all in the summer transfer market in terms of recruitment.

Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe, RB Leipzig’s Dayot Upamecano, and Rennes’ Eduardo Camavinga are understood to be the shortlisted candidates by the record 13-time European champions.

Edinson Cavani, who is currently a free agent, has also been linked with a move to Santiago Bernabeu in recent times.

Florentino Perez earlier insisted that Real Madrid will not dip into this transfer market, but Zinedine Zidane shares a different opinion than that of the president.

“Anything can happen until October 4 [deadline for the summer transfer window],” Zidane said during Friday’s pre-match press conference ahead of the trip to Real Betis, as per Marca.

“You are interested about who is coming in, but I am happy with my squad.

“We will work to do it right and, in the end, we can reach the objectives that we have.”
