Serie A could return on May 3rd

According to the Italian Minister of Sport Vincenzo Spadafora, there is light at the end of the tunnel.

He has a target date of May 3rd to get the race for the Scudetto back underway.

In an interview reported by Goal, Spadafora does not promise stadiums full of fans. But he is confident of at least getting the competition back up and running.

He said:

“Serie A can resume on May 3, that’s what we hope for.”

“Then we will evaluate whether it can be with the doors to the stadiums opened or closed.”

Italian FA president Gabriele Gravina is not so sure it is an achievable goal but is also working towards the beginning of May.

Gravina added:

“We push on with optimism regarding the resumption date that we are working on.”

“Starting from 2-3-4 May to be able to complete all the championships by June.”
