Rene Meulensteen Praises Benjamin Sesko’s Growing Chemistry With Bruno Fernandes

Former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen has highlighted the steady progress of Benjamin Sesko, pointing to the striker’s improving link-up with Bruno Fernandes as a key sign of his development this season.

Sesko, who arrived with high expectations, initially needed time to build an understanding with his teammates, particularly United captain Bruno Fernandes.

According to Meulensteen, the early signs of hesitation between the pair have gradually turned into a promising attacking partnership that continues to strengthen with every match.

Speaking about the forward’s adaptation, Meulensteen noted that the connection between Sesko and Fernandes was not immediate at the start of the campaign but has shown clear improvement as the season has progressed.

“You could see in the beginning of the games [earlier in the season] Bruno was pointing to him all the time, the connection wasn’t there yet. But now it’s getting stronger and stronger,” Meulensteen explained.

The Dutch coach emphasized the importance of service for any striker and believes Sesko’s growth is closely tied to the increasing quality of deliveries he is receiving.

With more consistent support from midfield, the young forward has begun to showcase the qualities that made him such a highly regarded prospect.

“As strikers, you feed off service. If you give him service, he is definitely progressing. His movement is better. He’s working hard, he can bring other players into play. He’s getting better from game-to-game,” he added.

Meulensteen’s comments underline the belief that Sesko’s development is trending in the right direction. His improved movement, work rate, and ability to involve teammates have started to translate into more effective attacking sequences, suggesting that his role within the team is becoming increasingly influential.
