Real Madrid should give Sergio Ramos a lifetime contract

Sergio Ramos’s current deal expires next year and Ex- Real Madrid star Jose Camacho believes Ramos should be given a lifetime contract

Sergio Ramos would go down as one of the best defenders to have worn the Real Madrid jersey.

Since joining Los Blancos in 2005, the Spaniard has gone on to lift 21 trophies for the club, including four Champions Leagues and four La Liga titles.

The no nonsense defender has single-handedly saved Real Madrid a lot of numbers and is well famous for rising to score match winners.

Sadly, an illustrious spell in Spain could be coming to an end for Ramos.

The Spaniard has only a year left on his contract and would be 35 by the time it’s set to expire.

Real Madrid have a rule that sees them hand only one-year extensions to players late in their thirties.

But ex-Los Blancos defender Jose Camacho has urged his former side to keep Ramos for longer, saying he’d offer him a life-time contract if it was up to him.

“Sergio Ramos is unique in the world of football,” Camacho told MARCA.

“I’d renew [his contract] for life.”

“He’s been a great signing for Real Madrid, although they still have Marcelo,” the Spaniard said.

“He’s going to have to wait a bit, but he’s a player with a big future and he’ll be an important member of the Real Madrid squad.”
