“I want to win the Premier League but with the coronavirus situation, whatever happens I will understand.” – Sadio Mane

Only six points separated Liverpool from lifting the Premier League trophy and ending their 30-year long wait.

With a comfortable 15-point lead, the Reds looked all set to dethrone Manchester City as champions who earned the title on the slightest of margins last season.

But football was put to a halt following the outbreak of coronavirus, although UEFA has strictly warned against scrapping off the season.

Sadio Mane suggests the health problems the coronavirus pandemic has caused globally by far outweighs his side’s need to end their league title drought.

“I want to win the games and I want to get the trophy, it’s what I would love,” Mane told in an interview with talkSPORT.

“But with this situation, whatever happens, I will understand. It has been difficult for Liverpool, but it has been more difficult for many millions of people around the world.

“But for myself, it’s my dream and I want to win it this year. If that’s not the case, I will accept it. It’s part of life.”
