Hansi Flick – Too early to compare Haaland and world-class Lewandowski

Just 19 years of age, Erling Haaland has already established himself as one of the world’s most promising youngsters and forwards in general.

Prior to his signing for Dortmund, the teenager had already bagged a staggering 29 goals in just 27 appearances for former side RB Salzburg.

Since swapping for the Black and Yellow, Haaland has continued to show scoring goals is his hobby with another ridiculous 12 goals in 11 total outings for Dortmund, including a 20-minute hat-trick on his debut.

Just after the Bundesliga resumed action, who else was the better name to score the first goal than Haaland himself.

Ahead of the potential title decider, Bayern boss has praised the Dortmund scoring sensation but insists it’s too early to draw comparisons with Bundesliga’s third-all time goal scorer, Robert Lewandowski.

“It is his [Haaland’s] first season, so comparing him is too early,” Flick said as quoted by Evening Standard.

“Robert has always been at world-class level in recent years. But Haaland is a huge talent.”

“He is a young player, but he has a huge pull to the goal. He just wants to finish. He has an enormous dynamic.”

“He is greedy, has an enormous size and is still agile. But we don’t just have to take care of him.”
