Fred is confident Bruno Fernandes can help him score more goals

Manchester United midfielder Fred scored twice to help his side record a thumping 5-0 victory against Club Brugge in the Europa League group stages at the end of February.

Signed by Jose Mourinho in 2018, Fred had a difficult start to life in the Premier League which saw his €59 million price tag often get called into question.

The Brazilian has brilliantly managed to turn things around this season. Winning Premier League Player of the Month for February, he has become an integral part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer‘s team.

The 27-year old, who has been alternated between playing in attacking and defensive midfield, suggests he prefers an advanced role.

Asked by MUTV if he aims to score goals more often, Fred replied: “I hope so, as it’s always important to score goals.

“I’ve been working on it. And, with Bruno’s arrival, we’ve got someone who gives us more freedom, given his quality with the ball at his feet.

“So I hope to attack and score more goals and work hard on my finishing to score more goals in a season. I’m certain that, with Bruno’s arrival, more goals will come.”
