Fanny Neguesha, the famous partner of footballer Mario Lemina, has addressed the backlash and misunderstandings surrounding her recent TikTok video, where she revealed she had been blacklisted by Rihanna’s Savage Fenty brand for reasons still unknown to her.
The Viral TikTok Video
In a six-minute TikTok video that quickly went viral, Fanny shared her experience of being approached by Rihanna’s Savage Fenty brand for a potential collaboration. She explained that talks had progressed positively, but the deal fell through just as she was about to sign the contract. To her surprise, she later discovered she had been “blacklisted” by the brand, leaving her confused and seeking answers.
The video sparked a wave of reactions online, with some viewers criticizing Fanny and misinterpreting her intentions. Many assumed she was accusing Rihanna of jealousy or trying to force a collaboration, but Fanny has now clarified that this was never the case.
Fanny’s Clarification
Fanny expressed her disappointment over the negative comments and misunderstandings surrounding her video.
“I was so sad by the comments on my video because people just misunderstood me,” she said. “In that video, I was very clear about the situation. I just wanted an answer to know if I did something wrong. I even said in the video that if I need to do more makeup content or something, people can kindly let me know in the comments.”
Fanny emphasized her admiration for Rihanna and her brand, highlighting the positive impact Rihanna has had on women, particularly Black women, in the industry.
“Of course, I like Rihanna and her brand! She looks out for women, Black women in the industry. She’s doing a lot for education, for young little girls who don’t have enough resources. She gives them the opportunity to have a better future, so I identify with her,” Fanny explained.
Fanny was quick to dismiss the rumors that she accused Rihanna of being jealous or that she was desperate for a collaboration.
“Some people thought I said ‘Rihanna was jealous of me’… but no, that’s not what I said nor meant,” she clarified. “I’m just trying to figure out if someone has the same issues I have. It’s not because I want the collab so bad, or I’m trying so hard. No, I’m not forcing a collab.”
She also addressed claims that she was seeking free products, pointing out that she has been a loyal customer of Fenty Beauty since its launch.
“I’ve been buying Fenty Beauty for a long time now. When she just launched her beauty makeup line, I bought it by myself. People on social media started claiming that I just wanted free products, that I didn’t want to spend my money, but I did buy her products. I have a lot of her products because I like Rihanna’s brand,” Fanny stated.
Fanny reiterated that her intention was never to attack Rihanna or her brand but to seek clarity on the situation.
“The only thing is… I’m not crazy. It was not a case of me trying to contact the Savage Fenty team to collab, and they said no, and now I’m mad. No, that’s not what happened,” she said.
Despite the disappointment, Fanny remains respectful of Rihanna and her brand, acknowledging the positive influence they have had on her and many others.
As Fanny continues to navigate the fallout from the viral video, she remains focused on her career and personal growth. Her candidness and transparency have resonated with many of her followers, who have praised her for addressing the situation head-on.
While the mystery behind the blacklisting remains unresolved, Fanny’s clarification has shed light on her true intentions and cleared up misconceptions. Fans of both Fanny and Rihanna can only hope for a positive resolution in the future.
