Cristiano and Messi have been part of the debate of who among them is the best football player in the world.
The duo have won numerous individual trophies including sharing 10 Ballon d’Ors among them.
While the debate continues on which of two is the Best, one of them has come on top in the list for the most admired man.
According to a recent survey conducted by YouGov, Cristino Ronaldo is the most admired sportsman in the world, with Messi at second.
Bill Gates founder of Micrsoft topped the list again as the most admired male figure of the year, followed by Barack Obama and Jackie Chan.
Portuguese superstar came at seventh with a share of 4.3% and therefore became the most admired sportsman of the year.
Messi ranked ninth in the overall list with the share of 3.8%.
Cristiano Ronaldo gained the most places as he moved up three places from this tenth place in 2018. He placed at the seventh position this year.

YouGov had expanded the study this year to people in 41 countries which is the most ever.
Over 42,000 people were interviewed by YouGov to compile the whole list.
Unfortunately no sportswomen made it into the top-20 list, in the similar study conducted for women.
Michelle Obama, Oprah Winfrey and Angelina Jolie were the top three in the women’s list.
