Cristiano Ronaldo voted as the Greatest European Striker of the 21st Century in a BBC poll

Ronaldo has been voted as the Best European Striker of this century in a poll conducted by BBC named European Championship of Strikers.

BBC conducted the poll on 32 strikers that the BBC sport journalists had shortlisted.

In a knock out competition, players were pitted against each other one on one with the winner moving to the next round.

The shortlisting was done on the basis of:

A player must have scored at least 20 goals in three season.
Their International pedigree and success of the players was also taken into account per BBC.

At the end Ronaldo won the poll as the Best European Striker since 2000.
In the final the Portuguese superstar beat Thierry Henry with 54%-46% in his favor.
