The Incheon Airport Police Station will summon related individuals to clarify consultation with the airport security team.
Incheon Airport Police Station will interrogate employees from a private security company involved in excessive security of actor Byun Woo-seok on July 24th.
The police will question bodyguards who closed the gate, pointed flashlights at citizens, and the security company’s CEO.
Charges such as obstruction of business and coercion are being considered for the bodyguards’ actions.
An internal investigation has been conducted on three out of six employees of the security company responsible for protecting Byun Woo-seok during his departure.
CEO of Byun Woo-seok’s security company claims all security works at Incheon International Airport were done in coordination with the airport.
“The Incheon International Airport’s side denied that we consulted them, but we will clarify this in the police investigation that all the security works had been carried out in coordination with them”.
Allegation of closing the gate was addressed by CEO A, mentioning that airport staff instructed them on manually opening and closing doors.
CEO A stated that 4 security staff members were present to block the gate after actor Byun Woo-seok passed through.
They plan to submit footage showing airport staff at the scene of Byun Woo-seok’s departure.
“The Incheon Airport’s Security Division told us about the method of manually opening and closing the automatic doors after passing through the gate. There were about 4 security staff members on the site to directly block the gate after actor Byun Woo-seok passed through it.”
CEO A consulted with airport security division to address concerns about escalator access.
“With concerns about accidents due to the crowd, we consulted with the airport security division from the gate.”
Measures were taken to prevent accidents due to crowd flocking on escalators.
Passports were not inspected, but individuals were verified for lounge access.
Coordination with airport staff was necessary for private security company to carry out tasks.
“At that time, there was a crowd of duty-free shop employees, citizens, and fans, at the airport so we were worried about the possibility of accidents. We took measures in coordination with airport staff to prevent the crowd from flocking on the escalators”, adding “We did not inspect passports due to the crowd, but rather verified whether individuals were authorized to enter the lounge”
