Bernardo Silva has warned Man City to not take Real Madrid for granted

Manchester City stunned the Santiago Bernabeu as they came out on top against Real Madrid in the first leg of the Champions League Last 16 tie in February.

Gabriel Jesus’ header canceled out an early strike from Isco before Kevin De Bruyne’s spot-kick helped City earn a hard-fought 2-1 victory.

Other than being at an obvious disadvantage due to City’s away goals, Zinedine Zidane‘s side will be without their skipper Sergio Ramos when they attempt to save their blushes in the second leg of the tie.

But Bernardo Silva, who is well aware of the caliber the record 13-time Champions League winners possess, has warned Man City not to get too comfortable with their earlier results.

“When you play a side like Madrid nothing is ever certain,” said Silva in an interview with AS.

“It’s a good result and we’re in a great position to go through to the quarter-finals. It’s a tough match and we’ll need to play well and maintain our concentration.

“You can’t write any team off, far less Madrid who have won 13 European Cups. No one else has the experience Madrid’s players have in this competition, so we can’t think we’ve already beaten them.”
