Tigers Sniff the Rose 尚公主 is officially one step closer to audiences. The upcoming Chinese historical romance drama, produced by Tencent Video, has completed filming, according to updates shared by fans and cast teams in early February 2026.
Adapted from the popular web novel Shang Gong Zhu, the series is set in ancient China and follows the intertwined fates of two ambitious young figures navigating political intrigue, loyalty and love. The drama is planned to run for 40 episodes and is positioned as one of Tencent’s major costume romance releases.
The story centres on Mu Wanyao, also known as Princess Danyang, portrayed by Meng Ziyi. A determined noblewoman with sharp instincts, she forms a strategic alliance with Yan Shang, a brilliant and upright young man played by Li Yunrui. What begins as cooperation gradually deepens into a complex emotional bond as both characters face court politics, power struggles and shifting allegiances.
Filming for Tigers Sniff the Rose reportedly began in late August 2025 and wrapped in early 2026. To mark the end of production, wrap-up specials and behind-the-scenes stills were released by the lead actors’ teams, giving fans their first extended look at the drama’s costumes, sets and on-screen chemistry.
