Vardy made the right move to reject Arsenal as the Gunners are on a massive decline compared to Leicester City.
The 33-year-old was an integral part of the Foxes’ astonishing title-winning campaign in the 15/16 season. He scored 24 goals in 38 appearances in all competitions.
Vardy joined Leicester for just from Fleetwood for just £1m. Hence, his release clause was relatively affordable at £20m.
Arsenal already met with the forward and his side with details already sorted before he opted to stay put with the Foxes.
Leicester now look to be one of the top sides in England once again and Phil Neville thinks Vardy did right to reject Arsenal who are on a downward trajectory.
“He has a phenomenal scoring record Jamie Vardy,” Neville said via Metro.
“A couple of years ago he had the opportunity to go to Arsenal but he decided to stay with Leicester to repay their faith in him. I think that was the correct decision.”
“You see the way that the club is going, they’re definitely growing in stature and now they have a fantastic manager.”
Jamie Vardy with one more goal will reach the milestone of 100 Premier League goals.
He is also currently the top scorer in Premier League with 19 goals and is looking to be the oldest golden boot winner in Premier League.
