Moving Season 2 Officially Greenlit With Bigger Stakes, Expanded Cast And A Key Cast Absence

The hit South Korean superhero drama Moving has officially been confirmed for a second season, with preparations underway for a return that promises larger threats, deeper emotional arcs and a significantly expanded universe. Following the show’s global success on Disney+, Season 2 is already being positioned as one of the most anticipated Korean drama events of 2026.

Moving debuted in 2023 as an adaptation of Kang Full’s popular webtoon, blending superhero mythology with family drama and coming-of-age storytelling. The series followed three high school students born with inherited superpowers, alongside their parents who spent years hiding similar abilities while protecting their children from shadowy government forces.

Returning Cast Anchors The Story

Season 2 will reunite much of the original ensemble that helped make the series a breakout hit. Confirmed to return are Ryu Seung-ryong, Han Hyo-joo, Zo In-sung, Cha Tae-hyun, Go Youn-jung and Kim Do-hoon. Their characters will continue navigating the fallout from Season 1’s climactic confrontations and the exposure of long-buried secrets that pushed the superpowered world into the open.

However, one notable change will affect the new season’s lineup.

Lee Jung Ha To Enlist In The Marines, Will Not Join Moving Season 2 Production

Actor Lee Jung-ha, who played a central role in Season 1, is officially set to begin his mandatory military service on January 26, 2026. He has chosen to enlist in the Republic of Korea Marine Corps, one of the most demanding branches of military service.

With his enlistment confirmed, Lee Jung-ha will be unavailable for the filming schedule of Moving Season 2, which is expected to begin production later in 2026. Actors close to him have shared that his absence marks a significant change for the highly anticipated sequel, as many fans had hoped to see his continued presence following his breakout performance in the first season.

Despite the disappointment surrounding his non-participation, fans have widely expressed support and well-wishes for his service.

New Characters And A Bigger World

Season 2 will also introduce major new faces, signaling a broader scope and more complex power dynamics. Veteran actor Seol Kyung-gu is set to join the cast in a pivotal role, alongside Yum Jung-ah and Roh Yoon-seo. Their characters are expected to deepen the mythology and escalate the central conflict surrounding superpowered individuals.

Production is currently targeting a June 2026 filming start, with director Kim Sung-hoon returning to helm the series and original creator Kang Full once again overseeing the story.

What Season 2 Will Explore

The new season is expected to deal directly with the consequences of Season 1’s revelations, as families who once lived in secrecy are forced into a world of open danger. Greater powers, more organized enemies and moral dilemmas tied to identity, sacrifice and responsibility are expected to drive the narrative forward.

There has also been growing speculation that other Kang Full stories, including Light Shop and Bridge, could be woven into Moving’s storyline, potentially creating a shared universe across multiple adaptations.
