Mourinho stays quiet when asked about Dele Alli

Jose Mourinho remained quiet when asked about Dele Alli as he was left out of the squad again.

Tottenham Hotspurs gaffer Jose Mourinho did not comment on Dele Alli’s omission from yet another game.

Alli was on in the reserve squad for Tuesday’s Carabao Cup match vs Chelsea. Evidently, this is the fourth time he stays out for six Spurs matches.

It is said that the England international lost his status under Mourinho. Also, this led to different speculations of him leaving the club before the end of the transfer season.

Mourinho refused to comment on the 24-year old’s absence from the squad. Instead, he spoke about two other players who stayed out. This included the recently injured Son Heung-Min.

“No Dele Alli, no Sonny, no [Giovani] Lo Celso,” Mourinho told Sky Sports when quizzed on Alli’s absence.

The Portuguese manager showed his witty answers yet again! He turned down the question and asked whether Frank Lampard will omit Thiago Silva after his blunder at West Brom.

“I am not going to talk about the players who are not here,” Mourinho continued. “Are you going to ask Frank [why] no Thiago Silva, was because of the mistake he made or another reason?”

Although Mourinho flipped even more after being asked that supporters demand answers for Alli’s absence. He responded in a different way.

“Fans are fascinated by every player that is playing especially,” Mourinho said.

Spurs received free points after their draw against Leyton Orient. Because the game was called off due to a coronavirus scare. Consequently, the English side reached the last 16 of the EFL Cup without playing the last game.

On the other hand, Mourinho revealed that he felt weird as his team progressed without playing. And that he felt for the League Two club as they did not get a fair opportunity to play.

“It’s a strange competition for us because I don’t like at all to go to the next round without playing,” Mourinho added. “Also for us but especially for Leyton Orient, we did not play that game which makes me sad about it.”
