City confirms Aguero’s injury, will see a knee specialist

It was not all good news for Manchester City when they beat Burnley five-nil in their recent Premier League clash.

City ran out convincing winners. But during the winning of a first-half injury-time penalty, Sergio Aguero picked up a knee injury.

The Argentine was forced off the field and subsequently replaced by Gabriel Jesus.

Pep Guardiola was concerned after the game, telling the BBC:

“He felt something in his knee. He struggled in the last month with some pain in his knee. We will see on Tuesday.”

Well Tuesday is here and it’s not good news, the club confirmed that the player has been sent to see a knee specialist in Spain.

The club’s official website said:

“Sergio Aguero suffered damage to his left knee in the 5-0 win over Burnley on Monday evening.”

“The striker will now travel to Barcelona to see Dr. Ramon Cugat for further examination.”

“Everyone at City wishes Sergio the best with his recovery.”
