A bizarre and unforgettable story involving Zinedine Zidane resurfaced recently after a Real Madrid supporter revealed how a minor car accident turned into one of the most unexpected moments of his life.
Back in February 2020, Ignacio Fernández, a devoted fan of Real Madrid CF, was heading to a decoration fair near Valdebebas when his car was struck from behind at a roundabout.
Naturally concerned about the damage, Ignacio stepped out of his vehicle to see who had hit him. To his complete surprise, the person waiting outside the other car was none other than Zidane himself, who was managing Real Madrid at the time.
Recalling the moment in an interview with Diario AS, Ignacio admitted the shock immediately disappeared once he recognised the French football legend.
“When I saw that it was Zidane, I stayed calm, at least I knew he had insurance and everything was paid for,” he joked.
Fortunately, the accident was only minor, and both men handled the situation calmly on the spot. But before they went their separate ways, Ignacio could not resist asking the former World Cup winner for one thing, a photo together.
“Otherwise, my friends wouldn’t believe that Zinedine Zidane had hit me,” he said.
